Heartland Fabrication Crane Building

Project Description

Heartland Fabrication needed to join two buildings together to streamline their steel manufacturing processes. The new pre-engineered metal building constructed between the two existing structures is 65’ wide and 287’ long, houses three 15-ton cranes, also has a lean-to attachment.

One of the biggest challenges that we solved with this project was the details regarding tying the different buildings together. This is where our experience in the industry won out against competitors. We were able to design two different methods to connect the new structure – one into the existing metal building side wall and the other going over and encompassing the existing masonry building endwall.

We were contracted for the building package, erection, and overhead doors. Despite the owner contracting directly with other companies for site work, foundations, etc., our Project Manager still coordinated much of the job.
